| In 1936, smack in the middle of the Nazi era, Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian alps hosted the winter olympics. Here are the ski jumps that were used then. I once talked to a World War II veteran who claimed he rode a bicycle down one of those jumps after the war. Garmisch-Partenkirchen, twin cities that have grown together, is one of my favorite spots in Germany. Not far from Innsbruck, its a beautiful little city with a lot to do. One reason there is so much to do is that it is a tourist favorite -- with reason! |

| In Garmisch, a very typical Bavarian style house. Germans, especially Bavarians, love flowers and colors. They also keep their homes and streets cleaned and well kept. That creates an idyllic atmosphere. |
