| Freiberg is a beautiful city in southern Germany (Baden-Wurtemberg), on the edge of the black forest. Good hiking is right next to the city, our hotel was in the 'old city' near the location shown, but we were within five minutes of a path into the hills for a wonderful hike. Germany has excellent hiking trails, usually very well marked and often easy to hike. Going hiking is something Germans young and old do, its typical to see the hiking paths filled with people on weekends -- Germans love their forests! |
